S·P·I·R·I·T·S

On December 14th the one-of-a-kind prog-baroque ensemble Croissants & Whiskey will be premiering my new work S·P·I·R·I·T·S, which is the result of my being named the 2022 ‘Continuo Composer’ by the Continuo Commissioning Circle and being awarded a commission for a major new work for the ensemble. Croissants & Whiskey is a unique blend of harpsichord, recorders, baroque viola and G violone, and the work I’ve composed for them is a playful exploration of how we relate to the various traditions and ideas passed down to us.

My piece is called ‘XIV…’

Diapsalmata: Portrait of a Self

This is the second performance of the large-scale song cycle I composed in 2021 for baritone Stephen Marsh. It sets texts by philosopher Søren Kierkegaard to weave my own personal story of identity, with a 15-piece chamber orchestra. Performed by the wonderful Forest Collective, the concert will also feature a performance of my Sonata for Flute and Piano, and Komorebi by Salina Fischer.
The performance will be in Geelong, at the R W Gibson Centre at Christian College
